I came across your blog post in my Google alerts for autoimmune disease. The first part of your post looked so interesting I had to come and visit!
What an inspiring post...and I'm looking forward to the next one! I have severe allergies and asthma and fibromyalgia, and have to stay at home most of the time to stay mostly "normal." I can very much relate to your situation!
I have been working on becoming a freelancer as this is really the best way to take care of my health and yet earn an income. I can work around my health this way!
Very interesting and inspiring post!
Have a great day,

I was diagnosed with Retroperitoneal Fibrosis last year (08). The short-term memory losses, the reduced attention spans and the terrible flank and mid-back pain from both the disease and the heavy doses of the two steroids (Prednisone and Mycophenolate) with which I am being treated have spelled the end to my career as a freelance journalist (please see my website). I don't know how my wife puts up with the mood swings from the steroids. She has saved my life at least twice. Good for you. Keep punching. PW in Canada.
As your BFF I have to tell you publicly how proud I am. For so long you have faced such incredible odds and overcame them with pride and dignity. Not to mention an overwhelming amount of tenacity. I should hope that if ever faced with a similar situation I could find your strength.

I sense already that part II of this post will end up at a much better place.
